Better late than never
I'm sure everybody in web world already knows all about it, but Taj Burrow won the first contest of the 2010 ASP world tour. Dane Reynolds lost interest in his semifinal #2 heat, leading everyone who was glued to the screen to lose interest as well . Dane is becoming the Tiger of surfing, everybody else is just downright boring to watch compared to him.
G-money are you watching the same heats that I am? Just like in modern collective Jordy rips on dane, same tricks but way more power and fluidity. Jordy's round house is pure power and beauty, Dane's is choppy and unfinished. Jordy's air's are higher and smoother also. Dane looks like he just rolled out from under the jax beach pier headed for the mission house, needs help. Still love ya G-money, the blog rocks!

Au contraire mon fraire----I'd just call Dane's surfing style more "structured". Jordy's definitely smoother/looser. That being said, I never actually liked Dane Reynolds surfing at all until I discovered a little gem at youtube.com (see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFbo5GmPChI)---he's ripping in some gutless Jax.Beach-type waves. His cutbacks are insane---no one has a better bottom-turn-into-carve than this guy. Either way, both of these guys are the future of pro surfing.

Dane definitely rips and is going to be a force to reckon with. I'm just saying that power has become somewhat of a lost art in today's surfing. Jordy has that old school power and smoothness along with today's modern flippity-floppity bag of tricks, rare combination. That being said checkout Danes profile http://www.quiksilverpro.com.au/surfers.aspx definitely looks like his panhandling at the pier for meth or colt 45's.

wow K-Bomb, thats crazy! I'm stoked you wrote in with that, i fully believe that Dane rules MC and i do believe that he has power and more flow than anyone. I will admit that slash carve, tail release thing, Jordy does in the pocket of the wave is unmatched-and he can pull them at will-- he is also a MUCH better competitor than Dane, but i truly believe Dane is a 100% original. It just goes to show why judging surfing is so hard and so controversial. We both watched the same heats and have a completely different opinion, i love it! Thanks again for writing in man, i appreciate it!

Disagree on the Jordy/Dane surfing thing, but I've got to agree on the Quik profile photo---Dane needs to "makeover"!
